Nikolas became aware of another presence in the room. The tiny hairs on the back of his neck bristled with awareness. That, also, was a skill he had developed while in prison. He carefully slid his hand over the fine comforter and switched on the bedside light.

"Why are you here?" Nikolas was confused. "What do you want?"

Jason Morgan cracked his knuckles and began to silently advance toward the bed where Nikolas lay.
